The Bakersfield Chapter of The National Association of Professional Women Had Its Monthly Meeting This December

The NAPW Bakersfield Local Chapter had a lunch meeting. Chapter President Sarah Ketchum began the meeting at 12:15 by reading the NAPW mission statement and brand promise.

Each attendee, members & guests alike, gave a 30 second commercial about who they are, what they do and what company they work for or business they own. Sarah asked that members add a note about their ideal client to their commercial.

Sarah thanked everyone that donated to the chapter's charity of choice, Proyecto de Compassion/Passion for Compassion last month with clothing and blankets. The fund-raising event supplied turkeys, clothes, groceries and blankets to over 200 families.

"Thank you also to everyone that donated their time to our fundraising event," she added.

Sarah announced that the 2011 schedule was confirmed an women's coats d it was distributed to all attendees. All 2011 meetings are to be held at The Petroleum Club at 12:00 noon, the second Friday of every month.

Sarah announced that the chapter intends to form an Action Committee to be in charge of scheduling future speakers for meetings. The chapter was seeking volunteers for this committee.

The December food drive was to benefit the Community Action Partnership of Kern Food Bank. The chapter thanked all who brought in canned and non-perishable food for this charity. Albert Garza introduced himself from the Food Bank and thanked everyone for their donations and announced that they are always looking for people to donate their time.

Sarah announced the meeting speaker as Dustin Pitcher of The Marcom Group. He spoke about the benefits and powers of Social Media and provided hows and whys social media propels a business to the next level.
